Zapraszamy na Cwiszn werter, czyli do klubu książki jidyszowej! 

Na tym spotkaniu, wraz z prof. Rachel Lichtenstein, Leną Watson i Joanną Spyrą, przyjrzymy wynikom badań dotyczącym nietuzinkowego pisarza Awroma Sztencla oraz jego niezwykłej twórczości. Zapewniamy solidną dawkę wiedzy, jeszcze więcej literatury i płomienne dyskusje! 

Uczestnicy nie są zobowiązani do uprzedniego zapoznania się z jego twórczością – będziemy mieli okazję wspólnie zapoznać się z jego dorobkiem.

Professor Rachel Lichtenstein is a British artist, writer, curator and social historian whose internationally acclaimed work explores place, memory and Jewish identity. She is Professor of Creative Nonfiction at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she co-directs the Centre for Place Writing. She holds an honorary fellowship in Jewish Studies at University of Manchester and is on the advisory board of the Jewish Historical Society of England. She has curated literary festivals, exhibitions and digital heritage projects, including collaborative memory maps of Jewish life. Her publications include Rodinsky’s Room, On Brick Lane, Diamond Street, Estuary: Out from London to the Sea; her oral history collections are held internationally, and her artwork has been exhibited worldwide. Her fifth major nonfiction book The Prince of Whitechapel: Story of a Language Lost and Found will be published by William Collins in 2027 alongside a digital archive project that collates the work of Polish-born Yiddish poet A.N. Stencl in collaboration with the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York.

Profesor Lichtenstein będą towarzyszyć Lena Watson – tłumaczka i jidyszystka – oraz Joanna Spyra – judaistka i historyczka, które współpracują przy jej projekcie.
